I initially began my business by providing only paper placemats. But several owners began asking if I could provide laminated placemats. Within a few weeks, almost all of my placemat orders were laminated.

Some time later the owner of a Chinese restaurant inquired about take-home menus. I discovered that many types of restaurants use them by the thousands, but have to purchase them from local printers. Very shortly restaurants began to order both placemats and menus. This was another tremendous source of revenue.

About a year ago I went to a town of about 3,500 people. In one afternoon I called on three restaurants: a pizza restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and a new catfish restaurant. They all wanted laminated placemats and take-home menus (six different printing orders). I sold a total of 105 ads in a couple of weeks.

 

Businesses still need to promote their products and services. Advertising techniques have changed, but one thing has remained constant.
